HTC Touch 3G is not a new smartphone introduce by HTC, it’s just an improved version for HTC Touch which was introduced 12 months ago.

With the look is almost identical to HTC Touch, there are nothing extra which can be considered as appealing to these HTC Touch 3G.

Without much ado I listed pros and cons of HTC Touch 3G that will help you in your buying decision :

PROs:

• Excellent animations;

• Speed is better than the original Touch;

• TouchFLO interface is sppedy and responsive;

• Has Wi-Fi as a standard feature;

• Voice quality is good;

• Runs with Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro;

• Easy configuration for email;

• Works in tandem with the built-in GPS receiver;

• Uses Opera browser for mobile Internet use;

• A2DP Bluetooth installed;

CONs:

• No keyboard (same goes to HTC Touch);

• The controls are thin and tend to dig into fingers when pressed;

• None of the methods of text input are suitable for using with our fingers;

• Therefore, we’ll have to use the stylus for text input which is quite a fiddly input method;

• Touch 3G interface is slightly less advanced version of the Touch FLO 3D interface (seen on the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro);

• Average display and poor viewing angles and also difficulty viewing the screen in direct sunlight;

Dopod China, ranked at 3 in share of the smartphone with market penetration of 5.2% behind Nokia (70%) and Motorolla (18.9%).

These shows that Dopod is becoming a widely-used smartphone brand in China.

HTC recently announced that they will launch the HTC Max 4G, the first handset in the World that has GSM/WiMax integrated.

However, these HTC Max 4G isn’t going to be introduced in the US market, but according to HTC PR, it’ll be launched at Russia where HTC will joint-venture with Russia’s Scartel on their ‘Yota’ brand WiMAX network.

“Yota was established to provide a unique set of mobile communication services to millions of people in Russia, and today we have launched the first device and services to realize its full potential, said Denis Sverdlov, Scartel’s general director, in a statement.“

“We really believe that these innovative services, high-speed Internet, and stylish HTC Max 4G will completely change the communications industry, just as the introduction of cellular communications did many years ago.”

A source from Dopod China told Interfax :

“We intend to introduce the G1 to China, possibly in the first quarter of 2009, through a deal with High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC). It will be branded as a Dopod. We are now discussing a partnership with China Mobile,”

It (the G1) will be adapted to suit China’s network although Dopod have not currently decided whether the device will be EDGE or TD-SCDMA. With TD-SCDMA being the only 3G standard technology currently in use in China.

In China, selected HTC phones are sold under Dopod brand.

The victim claimed that the phone (Dopod D810) that she bought months ago and still under warranty having several problems with its buttons.

She took the phone to the dealer but they insist payment for the repair, which cost RM 1,000 but that shouldn’t be happen since it still under warranty.

In court she asked for refund but got rejected, instead the dealer was told to repair the phone without charge.

"In its defence, the dealer was adamant in its stand that the claimant’s phone had been in contact with liquid, based on their earlier repair works on the phone and as such the warranty was not applicable, adding that the conditions of the warranty were clearly stated."
